futura – Contemporary Dance Platform
futura – Contemporary Dance Platform brings together artists, programmers and performing arts professionals, contributing to the circulation, visibility and mediation of emerging contemporary dance.
Taking place every two years, the platform creates opportunities for the presentation of artistic work, the sharing of practices and the development of networks between artists, organisations, programmers and other cultural professionals, fostering a space for dialogue, discovery and collaboration.
The first edition takes place on 10, 11 and 12 December 2026, at Teatro Campo Alegre, in Porto.
The programme brings together different formats of presentation, sharing and professional exchange, organised around three areas of artistic participation: Stage, Studio and Video.

The first edition brings together a total of 23 works, presented in different formats, including the new creation ЯΛЯΛ, by Catarina Miranda for Companhia Instável, eight works selected for the Stage, six projects selected for the Studio, and eight works selected for Video presentation.

Background
futura builds on the work that Instável has been developing to support emerging artistic creation, the visibility and circulation of artists.
Between 2022 and 2023, Instável promoted E.LO – Showcase Instável, a project that sought to connect emerging creators with programmers and artistic programming professionals through online meetings focused on the presentation and discussion of artistic projects.
Based on sharing, mutual learning and the development of horizontal relationships, E.LO provided a space for experimentation and exchange that contributed to the reflection that led to the creation of futura.
