“Prima Rosa”, by Eríc Amorim Santos
A body explores its own masculinity through the pursuit of euphoric states by moving its own hips.
Performativities and sensitivities are presented as a form of revolution against the normative stereotype of transmasculine expression, while, between memory and a constructed future vision, adolescence is lived at the age of 30.
Prima Rosa proposes an introspective and resistant journey, where the body becomes the vehicle for constant reinvention.
Eríc Amorim dos Santos was born in 1994, in Pombal. As a dancer, his artistic expression has moved through various styles within street and clubbing dances since 2006, becoming part of those communities. As a drummer, he performed in pop rock bands between 2005 and 2008 and currently uses drumming as a crossover with body practices. As a performer, he has worked in creations by Marco da Silva Ferreira, Daniel Matos, Gaya de Medeiros, AURA, Diana Niepce, Margarida Belo Costa, Elson Marlon Ferreira and Filipa Peraltinha. As a creator, he premiered his first solo, GA, at Teatro do Bairro Alto as part of the Ou.kupa festival, curated by Piny, in June 2023. His background includes training in contemporary dance at ESD and Fontys HK, as well as 17 years of experience in battles in the styles of Locking and Hip Hop.
