VOID VOID VOID is a choreographic and sound performance, where gesture, sound and space are diluted in a single material. This is an experimental project where, through an immersive and speculative atmosphere, a choreographic and sound device is created that works as a game of volumes and contrasts between the visible and the invisible, between silence and noise, between chaos and order, between reality and imagination. Working with abstraction and the imaginary but without ever losing reference to reality, the piece is dedicated to building a landscape based on emptiness, or rather, a landscape that erupts and transforms itself through nothingness.
Antonio Marotta is a guitarist and composer dedicated to electronic music, electroacoustics and free improvisation. As a composer for dance and performance, he highlights Carminda Soares and Maria R. Soares’ “It’s a long yesterday”; “Ensaio para um eclipse emocional”, by Diogo M. Santos and Filipa Duarte; and “Simulacro”, by Carminda Soares and Margarida Montenÿ. He is a creator of the choreographic and sound performance “VOID VOID VOID”, in partnership with Maria R. Soares.
Maria R. Soares is a dancer and creator. She has collaborated with Victor Hugo Pontes, Lara Russo, Sarah Friedland, Catarina Miranda, Marianela Boán, Ballet Contemporâneo do Norte among others. As a creator she has presented “It’s a long yesterday,” in collaboration with Carminda Soares; “O meu velho diz que morre”, a project inspired by Portuguese folklore with the participation of Grupo Folclórico da Corredoura and Sociedade Musical de Guimarães; and “VOID VOID VOID,” a choreographic and sound performance in collaboration with Antonio Marotta.
