Sagração de quem Era
Margarida Constantino
Palcos Instáveis / Coproduction with Teatro Municipal do Porto

A “without after” consecration. A sort of posthumous tribute to something that never received its due value. In memory of what once existed, Sagração de quem Era places human interaction with nature under a lens of praise and fiction, in an act of denial, an accidental essay on greenwashing. If the apocalypse were the end, there would be no after. The term “post-apocalyptic” is, in essence, a contradiction. The idea that there is an after following a climate disaster is itself a denialist act of self-sabotage, for the Earth will continue to exist without us. And so I traverse the world, irreversibly, unable to keep up with the time in which I live.

Margarida Constantino is a choreographer and dancer from Porto. She holds a degree from the Artez University of the Arts in Arnhem, with a specialization in theory and artistic research through the Honors program.

She began her artistic journey at the Vilar do Paraíso Music Academy and Ginasiano, and also attended ESD — Escola Superior de Dança de Lisboa.

During her time in the Netherlands, she performed works by Marco Goecke, Elias Lazaridis -Sidi Larbi / Eastman Foundation, Trisha Brown com Eva Karzach, Roser Lopez Espinosa, Krisztina de Châtel, Eldad Ben-Sasson, among others.

She has presented various pieces, including 21 at the Korzo Theater in The Hague, That’s So Tapical in collaboration with Laura Daelemans, promoted by Instável – Centro Coreográfico.

In recent years, she has worked as a dancer with Nicole Beutler Productions, with the company LeineRoebana, and with other choreographers in Amsterdam. Simultaneously, she has worked as a movement director and performer for Tao Naar Dis, a film by Michal Grycko under the artistic direction of composer Jesse Passenier, among other projects in dance films and music videos.
