“ELEGIA”, by Elisabete Magalhães
Elegia is a choreographic project that is inspired by the homonymous literary genre to explore the autobiographical body and its intersections with the unrest of today’s world. With a poetic and perhaps melancholic approach, the choreography translates into movement the emotional complexity arising from themes such as wars, social crises and climate change.
How to transform intimacy into intimacy? Or the opposite?
The show instigates a deep reflection on the human condition and the impact of contemporary realities on individuality, revealing how the personal and the universal intertwine in a common lament. “Elegy” is therefore a lament, a project that acts as a mirror of the human condition and a catalyst for change and introspection.
